Safety Guidance for MoD Staff

He stated that the ministry is “looking into” cars from China within its vehicle pools, but emphasised that safety is a issue in every contemporary cars.
We have a collection of thousands of cars in the MoD and Chinese ones represent a very small number.
But whether you’re traveling in a Chinese car or a car from another country, what we’ve asked our people is to avoid connecting Ministry of Defence technology into their car, not to have conversations at a secret classification in any car, due to the growing threats of eavesdropping that are present in all vehicle, to only have those secret talks in protected areas. This is a prudent and reasonable thing for anyone concerned about safety.
After it was suggested that it would be prudent for the ministry to stop using every Chinese vehicles, Pollard replied: That is exactly what we’re investigating at the moment.”
